The electronic paper leader PVI E Ink announced that it signed a 10-year patent cross-licensing agreement with CPT Korea subsidiary Hydis.

CPT original for PVI OEM, with the viewing angle panel technologies of the Hydis,the subsidiary of PVI,production for PVI customers a wide viewing angle panel , the CPT obtain patent licenses, will be available to in PVI OEM, use this patented technology, wide viewing angle panel production for other customers.

PVI pointed out that within the scope of the agreement, the two sides can use the other patent technology, the production of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT LCD) related products.

In addition, the two sides will also expand the number of commercial cooperation, supply the CPT desired LCD module assembly services including PVI, CPT PVI Hydis TFT substrate, as the production of e-book readers, tablet computers, and other the use of the handheld mobile device.

CPT improved the  FFS wide viewing angle technology by the transverse electric field, has a wide viewing angle, low power, high resolution, etc., have been widely used in smart phones, tablet computers and other mobile devices, CPT patents granted in FFS will be able to enhance the competitiveness of their products, and expand the market share of mobile devices.

The PVI said, long-term commitment to the subsidiary Hydis electronic paper, the development and manufacture of TFT LCD products, Hydis with FFS wide viewing angle technology has the advantages of energy-saving, high-contrast, high-resolution, widely used in the smart phone, tablet computer high-end handheld electronic products display.
