OTFT-LCD is a LCD display with the organic thin film transistor. The conventional TFT-LCD affected by the material, only the flat display, can not be done very flexible curved display. Relatively, OTFT-LCD due to the use of organic materials, with bendable display characteristics, and therefore not only impact resistance, but light weight, small size. The breakthrough of this technology has not only changed the appearance of the display, and therefore the application environment greatly expanded and diversified. At the same time, similar to newspaper printing process Tape and Reel process display printed on a plastic sheet, can greatly reduce the cost of production.
The expert Yan donghang of Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, said the characteristics of the OTFT compared with TFT low cost, can achieve flexible display ,OTFT biggest disadvantage is that the mobility of the material is relatively low, relatively poor stability.
Though OTFT performance and stability can not be compared with the conventional inorganic transistor, it has a light weight, low cost, flexibility and good advantage in the various display devices, and a memory member shows good application prospect . Engaged in the international OTFT research for nearly 20 years, but how to design and processing the high-function devices, how to reduce the cost of processing, how to synthesize both high mobility and environmental stability of the organic semiconductor material., has been the research bottleneck.
